Futuristic "Paco House"

We complain about living in tiny homes where nothing fits and we fantasize about having enormous houses so we can spread all our possessions out. While some of us waste time daydreaming, other creative minds are bent on finding ways to optimize space.
The Japanese studio Schemata Architecture has created these unique white square futuristic-looking houses. They measure just 3 square meters, but inside they’re equipped to meet any human’s basic needs with a kitchen, shower, WC, bed and a living area.
However, Paco house’s extras are a lot more interesting than its basic features: the roof flips open so you can sleep under the stars and gaze at them while you doze off, and the kitchen turns into an outdoor barbecue by just opening the side door.
The most interesting thing about the Paco house design is the way they’ve managed to optimize space by using different levels, movable modules, and hidden space underneath the floor. The WC is hidden and pops up from beneath the floor with a simple turn of a handle. A comfortable table to eat or work at is also hidden under the floor. Plus, you can have friends sleep over at your Paco, there’s also a guest bed underneath the floor.
It’s a completely eco-friendly home: it’s powered by solar and wind energy, recycles water and has a biodegradable toilet. It’s prime example of environmental conscience.
Compact and minimalist, but also expandable and comfortable. Do you want one? The basic version of Paco house can be yours for 4,200,000 yen, some 30,000 Euros (35,000 USD). Small change, really. It costs about as much as a good car. Now, can you barbecue, sleep under the stars, and organize dinner parties in your car?
