Unconventional Christmas Trees

Christmas seems to arrive sooner every year. Years ago, the tree was decorated two weeks before December 25th. Now it’s an oddity to see the streets of a large city still “bare” at the end of November.
We also keep buying more and more gifts, eating more food, and decorating more rooms in our homes with balls, lights, stars, ribbons, and tinsel. This year, we suggest you put up just one decorative accessory: the classic Christmas tree, a popular custom that dates back centuries.
If all you’re going to put up is a single tree, at least make it a little original. Here are some suggestions so you’ll stand out with a simple spruce.
Ecological Trees
If you refuse to put up a Christmas tree because you consider it an insult to nature to have a living being in your family room, we suggest you use trees that respect the environment. The most ecological, beyond a doubt, is the fir tree poster. How many trees were chopped down to make it? A lot fewer than are used each Christmas to decorate homes around the world. It’s a pixilated tree that measures 160 cm (63 inches) and you can store it folded in a drawer. Unfold it each year and put it up in your living room with a couple of thumbtacks. If you don’t want to fill your walls with holes, you can always get your hands on a triangular vinyl adhesive with balls included, a sticker shaped like a tree that’s ideal for minimalists.
Another discrete and economical model is the LED light tree. It’s fairly small and works with a square battery that will keep it lit all through the holidays. And, last of all, the most practical option; disposable. It’s a fir tree shaped helium balloon. Blow it up and let it float around your living room. Once the holidays are over, just throw it in the trash.
USBmania at Christmas too
Those of you who won’t be going on vacation over Christmas can get your dose of peace and joy thanks to cabled Christmas decorations. These accessories come from Japan and they’re powered by the energy from your computer through a USB cable. A snowman that lights up, a white tinsel tree with different colored lights, or a “discrete” frozen model in shades of gold.
Within the wonderful and magnificent world of USB gadgets, we’ve also found some balls to hang from the tree. They work like memory sticks and you can load them with different photographs, so they’ll light up one after the other. It’s like a digital picture frame, but in the shape of a decorative ball.
I Hate Christmas
If you’re one of these people who hate Christmas and you just can’t wait for them to be over and done with. .. sorry, that’s just not going to happen. Our advice is this: “If you can’t beat them, join them”. We suggest you become a Christmas tree yourself by donning one of the most horrifying disguises imaginable, a fir tree suit. Attach a gift to each foot, put a little tinsel over your arms, and wear a huge star as a hat; you’ll be set to spread the Christmas spirit.
