Lego Diary: Set It Up on Your Desk
Three giant colorful cubes indicate the day, month and year. A new invention that uses simple Lego “technology” |

Who would’ve thought that such a normal everyday action as insignificant as fitting two things together would give birth to one of the most successful and celebrated inventions in history: Lego toys.
They were invented in Denmark in 1934, in fact the word Lego is derived from the Danish “Led Godt”, which means, “Play well”. A carpenter named Ole Kira came up with the idea and began producing miniature versions of his products in order to promote his business. He soon started selling scaled down versions of his furniture as children’s toys. Since then, Lego has kept on growing.
Entire cities such as Venice and London have been recreated using the colored blocks. Years ago LegoLand, a thematic park dedicated exclusively to the marvelous world of interlocking bricks, opened in Germany, and a giant Lego object has even been found on a beach in Brighton.
These objects enjoy worldwide success, that’s why many inventors make use of their simple “technology” to create products for daily use.
Among these products is this colorful desk diary. Three giant blocks make up this Lego piece calendar. You can pile them up to build a tower, line them up in a row, or make an asymmetrical shape. To change the date, month or year, just press the cube’s top. Simple and fantastic.
At Curiosite we’ve made the most of Lego’s advantages, that’s why we have SnackN’Stack interlocking utensils. They’re perfect to take on a picnic or to the office, and they preserve the essence of Lego since, of course, you can fit them together like Lego blocks.
